It Could Have Been Me.

This article brings into perspective the struggle that many Texans are going through with the threat of and/or actual foreclosure of their homes. This article really hits home for me. Before Christmas of the year past, I was working for a major aircraft manufacturer that had began to lay people off. On January 20th I received my layoff notice and quickly realized that drastic lifestyle changes were going to have to occur if I wanted to keep my good credit score and not drown in debt. My biggest obstacle was of course selling my house. Here I am with a $900 mortgage and no paycheck! I was one of the lucky few; I was able to get on unemployment and use that to make my house payment until it sold. Unbelievably, I sold my house five months after posting it for sale. But it made me think, "what happens when you're not so lucky?". This article gives you totals and percentages of the poor souls that weren't as "lucky". And if you're one of those who don't believe there is an economic crisis in Texas or anywhere else in America, read this article and think again.
